Most non-EU newcomers arrive on a long-stay visa (VLS-TS) that doubles as a residence permit once validated online on the ANEF portal within three months, or on a Passeport Talent, whose card is requested on ANEF instead. Since 1 May 2026, validation costs €300 (€100 for students), a first titre de séjour €350 and a renewal €250, and students must show €877.50 a month from 1 August 2026.
